LunarDAO is an international collective of people united by the mission of decentralizing access to space research and exploration. We are currently living at the inflection point of a privatized space race, and the implications of this moment will define our future. Making life multi-planetary is one of the most inspiring and important missions in our lifetime. The big question is: How? We believe that an international, decentralized, inclusive, and transparent organization would be much better aligned with the needs of the everyday person.
We uphold values of inclusion, peace, transparency, freedom of organization and speech. Space should be in the hands of the people, not any one nation or private entity. As such, LunarDAO will support funding for individuals to go to space and fund future space research and exploration as it fits into the mission of becoming a governing body for the moon and other celestial bodies.
It is very important to note that the core team has not pre-mined any tokens for ourselves. We have not given “special terms” to any Venture Capitalists, Influencers, Angel Investors, Rich Friends or Family, or any other person. There is no private sale at all, we are all being treated equally.
To achieve a completely decentralized state, we have issued our own governence token called $LUD, investors and $LUD holders will have the right to make decisions regarding the use of capital as well as having chance to receive a LunarDAO NFT to enter a lucky draw to find a winner with the prize of a space tour on a SpaceX spacecraft.
The $LUD token launched on Friday, January 21, 2022 on Juicebox. The funding period will last for one lunar cycle and will end on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Our token will have a fixed supply (1,000,000,000 $LUD). Once our initial token raise is over, we will never increase the supply of the tokens. Investors can contribute to LunarDAO with ETH on Juicebox platform or directly on LunarPad, we are also the first DAO to receive funding in USDT (available only on LunarPad).
The money raised from this token will fund the workers (NFT designers, website developers, solidity developers, marketing, legal consulting, etc.) needed to complete the rest of the roadmap.
A blueprint has been developed to serve the short-term goal of sending the first LunarDAO member into space in 2022 and the long-term goal of making space tourism affordable for all:
- Lunar Phase 1: Fundrasing and launching LunarDAO governance token — $LUD
- Lunar Phase 2: Organize a space tour for a LunarDAO member in 2022
- Lunar Phase 3: Provide funding to space research and exploration.
- Lunar Phase 4: Build a LunarDAO city on the moon
- Lunar Phase 5: Make space travel available for everyone
